Call for applications for young swiss choreographers
Project presentation
Within the 3rd Young Ballets International Dance Festival, the Dance Area Foundation is launching a call for applications from young Swiss choreographers.
After a selection process based on the applicant’s dossier, a young choreographer will be invited to present his/her work on the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices stage, during one of the two evening performances on 20 and 21 May 2022.
Conditions of participation
- Choreographers must be 30 years old or younger at the time of the festival.
- All dance styles are accepted.
- Pieces can be solos, duos or groups of up to 4 people.
- The duration of the piece must be between 10 and 12 minutes.
- The piece must be recent (created between 2020 and today).
What the foundation offers
The festival will cover the following costs in full:
- Accommodation and restauration for the selected company.
- Technical costs related to the rehearsals and the performance in the theatre.
- Video recording and professional photography during the performances.
How to apply
Send a dossier including:
- A presentation of the piece with title, description, duration, number of dancers, information on the premiere of the piece if applicable.
- A video of the entire piece in static shot. Use YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion to upload your video. Do not send or share video files.
- CV of the choreographer.
- Technical specifications (lighting, set elements,etc.)
